Elder Scrolls Online Summerset Expansion

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Expansion Announced Plus Free-Play Week

The Elder Scrolls Online is getting the addition of another major landmass with the Summerset expansion. Last year’s Morrowind expansion took us to the land of the Dark Elves, and this year we’ll get a chance to go to the homeland of the High Elves. It’s high time, too. Summerset Isle hasn’t been in an Elder Scrolls game since the very first title in the series, The Elder Scrolls: Arena.

Summerset will have players wrapping up some of the storylines from past expansions and patches, including some that have been running since the base game released. You’ll also get to join the Psijic Order of mages, and get a chance to learn their specialty: time-control magic. Jewelry crafting is finally making its way to Elder Scrolls Online as well, and you’ll be able to craft necklaces and rings to your heart’s content.

If you want a sneak peak of Summerset, there’s currently a prologue quest available. All you have to do is access the Elder Scrolls Online in-game store and purchase the Mage’s Message Stone (don’t worry it’s free) and use it once you have it in your inventory.

To get potential players pumped for the Summerset expansion, the Elder Scrolls Online is having a free-play event that gives you access to all of the base game. The free-play event runs from now until March 28, so you have a good chunk of time to evaluate whether or not you want to make a purchase. If you decide to buy the full version, you can get the Elder Scrolls Online Collection, which includes the base game and four major DLCs (including Summerset), or just purchase the Summerset Standard or Digital’s Collector’s Editions which include Summerset and the base game. If you pre-purchase either of them, you get Morrowind too, which is a good deal.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset expansion will release on PC on May 21 and on PS4 and Xbox One on June 5.
