With the recent announcement that the game is coming to iOS and Android devices, many players are wondering when will Fortnite be on mobile? This is a great question to ask because even though the game has been announced for mobile platforms, it isn’t available on them just yet.
The game and its signature Battle Royale online mode that pits 100 players against each other in a fight to the death is already available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but the additional option to play it on mobile platforms (with cross-play and cross-progression with most other versions to boot) has players wondering when will Fortnite be on mobile?
Fortnite Mobile Release Date: When Will Fortnite Be on Mobile iOS and Android?
To answer the question of when will Fortnite be on mobile, we need to simply look at what Epic Games has said on its official website. In its initial announcement, Epic revealed that the release date is very soon, but only for iOS users. An “invite event” will be starting on iOS soon.
Interested players must sign up for the invite-only event starting this Monday, March 12th. Soon thereafter, players will be given access to the game on iOS on an unspecified date. This seems more like a beta test of sorts than an official launch, so it’s currently uncertain when will Fortnite be on mobile for everyone.
Unfortunately for Android users, the answer to when will Fortnite be on mobile is less immediate. In the announcement, Epic Games made it clear that Android users will be able to play Battle Royale on their devices “in the next few months.” We will update you when we have a solid release date.
