The Fortnite Season 3 release time is almost upon us, adding new tiers for players to climb up, and new loot to earn. Epic Games has now confirmed a start date, when all players will be able to start leveling up and earning new gear.

Epic Games Community Coordinator “JustMooney1” confirmed that the Fortnite Season 3 release time will be February 22. If Season 3 follows previous updates, expect servers to go down at around 4 a.m. ET / 1 a.m. PT, with the new Season beginning once services return.

Fortnite Season 3 will end on April 30. (Epic Games will likely give information on a new Battle Pass and new loot drops before the end of Season 3.)

Fortnite Season 3 Release Time: Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass Release Date

The Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass will become available once Season 3 launches, which is February 22. It will cost 950 V-bucks and will not be purchasable using real money.

The Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass will remain current up until April 30. Before June begins, players can expect to hear more information about a potential new Battle Pass, as well as new loot and other unlocks.

There are now 100 reward tiers in the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass, compared to 70 in the Season 2 Battle Pass. Despite the additional tiers, Epic estimates that it will still take between 75 – 150 hours to unlock all tiers by playing the game, though tiers can also be purchased individually for 150 V-Bucks. The tiers feature new loot to unlock, which is divided into the following categories:

  • 6 outfits
  • 3 pickaxes
  • 4 emotes
  • 3 gliders
  • 3 back blings
  • 5 skydiving FX trails
  • 8 loading screens
  • 23 banners
  • 21 emoticons
