As the name obviously implies, the Fortnite Impulse Grenade is a new explosive that is being added to the game. There hasn’t been a new explosive weapon (think Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher) added to the game in some time, let alone a grenade. However, the Impulse Grenade works somewhat differently than you’d expect.
Fortnite 1.43 patch notes brought with it the Fortnite Impulse Grenade, and its utility is interesting. When you launch this new grenade at players, it will blast forth a circular impulse field upon making contact with something. Strangely enough, this impulse seems to only affect players and not anything that has been built.
Instead of blowing the affected players up, the Fortnite Impulse Grenade launches players into the air and blows them away. Depending on the angle of your throw of this new grenade, you could kill multiple players just from the drop damage.
