Star Wars Battlefront 2 Credits Guide: How to Farm Credits Fast to Unlock Heroes and More

Even with the temporary removal of microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2, you still have to use the in-game currency of credits to purchase any additional hero, villain, or ship that you are interested in. Previously, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker costed 60,000 credits to unlock each.

That number has since been reduced to 15,000 each, but it doesn’t change the fact that it still requires intense grinding to collect that many credits. Because of this, it can take upwards of a dozen hours to unlock them if you don’t know what to do. We’ve poured some time into Star Wars Battlefront 2, and have come up with the best ways to farm the game for credits.

Campaign: First and foremost, we recommend that you beat the singleplayer story campaign. Featuring 12 levels to complete and taking around six to seven hours to do so, this is one of the essential ways to gain credits early on. The campaign is pretty easy to beat and each individual level gives you a certain amount of credits or a loot crate to unlock.

Upon completing the entire campaign, though, you receive 5,000 credits, in addition to whatever you received for each mission. This alone will have you very close to being able to unlock one of the lower costing heroes like Emperor Palpatine for 10,000.

Online Multiplayer: This one is fairly obvious, but it’s one of the key components of farming for credits in Star Wars Battlefront 2. The credits you earn are almost entirely dependent on how well you do in a single match. If you kill a ton of enemies in Blast, then you will rewarded accordingly.

However, maybe you aren’t the best at gunning down enemy troopers. That’s totally fine, because like Battlefield, you are equally rewarded for completing necessary objectives in certain game modes. Examples of this are defending your position in Galactic Assault or carrying the item in Strike. Even stuff like defending the person carrying the item will grant you bonuses.

Earn Loot Crates: This one may feel a little icky to some players, but it is easily one of the best ways to farm credits in Star Wars Battlefront 2. You can earn loot crates through various activities, like completing campaign missions, ranking up, leveling up a specific class, and more.

What’s even better is that you gain a daily crate each time you login, so it’s worth checking into Star Wars Battlefront 2 even if it’s just to open up that daily crate. Loot crates can give you anywhere from a couple hundred credits to more than 1,000 per crate, so it’s a lucrative way of farming to unlock those precious heroes and ships.

Challenges: Navigating to the Career tab on the main home screen of Star Wars Battlefront 2 will show you hundreds of milestone challenges that you can complete across the campaign, multiplayer, arcade, and more. This is the single best way to farm for credits in the game, as completing each milestone challenge typically grants you several hundred or even thousand credits.

The challenges range from the super easy to extremely intense. It’s worth checking out the challenges for the modes you usually play and aiming towards completing them. Unfortunately, unlike some other methods of farming for credits, most challenges are finite and can only be completed once. The only exception to this is timed challenges. It’s worth checking those out daily to see what you need to do each day, as they give great rewards for credits.

Lastly, there are caps on credits you can earn for modes like Arcade. We don’t recommend that you grind these for too long, as the game does not tell you until you have completed an Arcade mission that you have reached your cap until after you’ve already wasted your time. The game will require you to come back three or so hours later like in mobile games, so it’s not worth your time and effort to try these.
