Assassin’s Creed Origins Guide: How to Obtain and Use Senu the Eagle for Missions and Assassinations

In every mainline Assassin’s Creed game to date, one of the main features that every assassin utilized was the Eagle Vision. This sixth sense of sorts was mainly a gimmick for allowing you to mostly discover secrets and find your target for that mission.

However, Origins’ version of Eagle Vision is very much the original rendition; grounded in its concept and also the most useful – even fun – Eagle Vision to date. Instead of some sixth sense, main character Bayek is one with his eagle companion Senu who replaces the assassin vision entirely. But before you are able to use Senu to help mark enemies and assist you in missions, you must first unlock her. This is how to do just that in Origins.

Assassin’s Creed Origins: How to Obtain and Unlock Senu the Eagle

At the very beginning of the game, you are treated to a tutorial mission where you learn to fight as Bayek and traverse the environment. After you leave the temple, you find your friend Hepzefa. This begins the first real mission of Origins called “The Oasis” where you follow him back to your hometown of Siwa.

To obtain and unlock Senu the eagle, you must continue this mission until you reach the point where you have to fight off the soldiers that are attacking your friend Hepzefa’s house. Once you have successfully defeated all of the soldiers, you will complete The Oasis quest and be treated to a cutscene where you obtain your eagle companion.

Assassin’s Creed Origins: How to Best Use Senu the Eagle Anytime

Origins

To use Senu anytime and anywhere, simple press up on your D-Pad and you will switch to her view above you. During this, you completely control her movements and actions. Unfortunately, Senu can be pretty strange and difficult to control. The easiest way to figure out her controls is to know that the right thumbstick turns her left, right, up, and down.

To go forward faster, you actually need to hold down the right trigger to boost her speed. To slow her down and zoom in, use the left trigger. Mastering her techniques takes time but is necessary for missions and assassinations. Anytime you arrive at a destination and have no idea what to do because of lack of a target, you need Senu.

While playing as Senu, a circle will be in the middle of your screen. Your target or objective for the mission will glow yellow around the circle. Whatever direction it points in, go that way until you see the entire circle burn yellow. That means that you are very close to your target and the smaller the circle gets, the closer you are.

The game has a little leeway, but once you have Senu’s eyes locked on the right location where the target or objective is, it will put a diamond marker above it. With that completed, you can back out of her eagle eyes by simply pressing circle or B on your controller. It’s worth noting that perfection isn’t totally necessary for finding your target, as Senu can even see through walls and at night, so feel free to use her liberally in Origins.
