If you’re a longtime fan of the series, you’re likely wondering if you can play the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign co-op. Unfortunately, the last few entries in the Call of Duty franchise have been lacking when it comes to co-op multiplayer of the online or split-screen variety. We’ve taken a look at what Black Ops 6 has to offer, and we’ll detail its co-op options below.
Is there co-op multiplayer in Black Ops 6?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 does not have a co-op campaign. The story mode is single-player only, and there are no split-screen or online multiplayer options.
However, the game does have split-screen available in other modes. You can play multiplayer and Zombies in Black Ops 6, but only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, there is no local multiplayer available on PC, PS4, or Xbox One whatsoever.
To play in split-screen mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, you must:
- Launch Black Ops 6.
- Load either multiplayer or Zombies.
- Connect a second controller to the console once the main lobby menu has loaded.
- Log into a user account when prompted (not a guest account).
- Log into an Activision account for the second account if prompted.
Once the above steps are completed, both players’ names should appear in the top-right section of the screen. You can now start matchmaking just as you would if playing solo.
Unfortunately, split-screen only supports two players. So, you won’t be able to get a full squad together locally. That means you’ll need to rely on infill to get the rest of your team.
For those who enjoy the co-op experience, Black Ops 6 may feel limited without a campaign option. However, the Zombies and multiplayer modes still deliver the thrilling teamwork and intense gameplay fans expect. With split-screen available on newer consoles, you can still dive into at least some of the action with a friend.
