Outriders‘ transition from its demo to the full game has mostly been a smooth transition, with payer progress transferring seamlessly. Some users are booting up the final release to find that their character statistics have randomly changed, though. In some cases, weapons and armor have been buffed. In others, nerfs have been made. Naturally, that’s got fans asking one question: Why have my gear stats changed? Here’s the latest on Outriders stat updates for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Why have my character stats changed in Outriders?
Any changes to Outriders gear stats are intentional. Square Enix and People Can Fly are constantly updating and rebalancing the game in order to maintain the best possible gameplay experience. In addition to buffing and nerfing weapon and armor statistics, the devs may also tweak enemy and ability stats.
These stat updates can seemingly come into effect at any time; there doesn’t necessarily need to be a new Outriders patch for the alterations to take place. As an always-online game, live hotfixes can roll out to make changes while the looter shooter is still online. This is highly convenient for the user base, and, due to its lack of competitive multiplayer, small changes don’t always need to be instantly communicated.
It’s also important to note that Outriders allows players to respec their skill trees at any time, for free. Owing to that fact, changes to class skills and abilities don’t necessarily risk ruining players’ character builds. Although some abilities might get nerfs, players are then free to switch them out for something more effective. Conversely, users might want to rebuild and pour their Class Points into Perks that receive buffs.
While loading into Outriders to find that the gear statistics have changed might be surprising, imagine the horror of discovering an empty inventory! Unfortunately, exactly that is happening to some players.
