This new The Last of Us 2 TV spot is perhaps some of the only marketing that PlayStation will distribute this week. Sony announced that its planned PS5 game reveal, set to take place on June 4, would be delayed indefinitely. The decision was made as civil unrest in the U.S. continues following the death of George Floyd.
“We decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4,” said Sony in a tweet. “While we understand games worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
Despite this delay to the PS5 event, The Last of Us 2 is still set for launch on June 19, 2020, exclusively on PS4.
