After some leaks and a single official tease, NetherRealm has finally announced the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. This version of the game comes with the previously released DLC for the game as well as a first for NetherRealm: campaign DLC. This announcement also came with the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath release date, which is May 26 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch.
This campaign DLC was hinted at in yesterday’s teaser trailer that showed a slightly different take on the second-best ending of the game. In it, the mortal Raiden is beside Liu Kang as he tries to right Kronika’s wrongs. However, in this new add-on, Shang Tsung shows up with Nightwolf and Fujin to throw a wrench into the works. This game will show a different timeline where the players are working with the cursed sorceror.

The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath also comes with three premium characters: Sheeva, RoboCop, and Fujin. It appears as though all three will come on May 26. May 26 also brings a free new update that will include Stage Fatalities, Friendships, and new stages, which include the rumored classic Deadpool and Soul Chamber stages. There also appeared to be one new one, too. Pre-orders also get a Eternal Klash skin pack that brings skins for Scorpion (from MK9), Frost (vanilla klassic), and Sub-Zero (from Mortal Kombat: Deception).
The existence of the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath isn’t exactly new. Some vigilant players dug through Steam’s database and saw the listing in late March. This also coincided with a datamine stating that 11 more characters were coming to the game. Some characters like Fujin, Sheeva, and Ash Williams (from Evil Dead), who have been rumored for months, were also allegedly supposed to come to the game. Other characters, like Takeda, Stryker, Havik, Ermac, and more, are also rumored to join the cast, but there isn’t as much backing up those fighters.
