Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt is now available, able to externally capture 4K HDR and 240 FPS

The Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt (GC555) is now available to buy. This new capture device for 2020 boasts a number of premium features, including the ability to capture 4K 60 FPS footage with HDR, as well as 1080p at 240 FPS. It can do all of this outside of a PC case.

It’s the power of Thunderbolt 3 that allows the Live Gamer Bolt to capture uncompressed video of the highest quality, while still being an external device. What’s more, Avermedia states that the gameplay preview that you see on your PC or laptop’s screen is shown with “virtually no latency.” Streamers, as well as those looking to use their preview screen to play games, will be happy to hear this.

Of course, the Bolt can also be used for capturing lower-res sources, with up-down video resolution scaling, frame-rate conversion, and HDR to SDR tone mapping all supported, and without affecting CPU or GPU performance.

Last, but not least, the Avermedia Bolt also incorporates RGB lighting, which should help make it stand out in any setup.

The Avermedia Live Gamer Bolt is currently available from Amazon.co.uk for £399.99, which translates to roughly $500. You can read up on the specs and other information on the official website here. Expect to hear more about US supply soon.
