Killzone: Mercenary Reportedly “Gorgeous,” Comparable To Killzone 3

It's no secret that the PlayStation Vita is struggling hardcore. In fact, Sony has had to resort to incentivizing its fan base in a feeble effort to sell the device, because apparently they can't do it themselves. Clearly, the Vita needs a killer app. A game that sells the system by taking advantage of every inch of its incredible hardware.

Word has it that Killzone: Mercenary could quite possibly be that game.

The latest issue of Polish game mag PSX Extreme (translated by the fine folks over on NeoGAF) has a slew of exciting details on the game, including:

  • Engine is nearly 1:1 from PS3 version
  • They added a few new gimmicks to the engine, so they can utilize more PS Vita
  • Game has gorgeous, clear, and crispy textures, and long draw distances
  • Character models are awesome, the same with animation
  • Stable FPS even with gigantic action inside levels
  • Literally, the game is like a portable Killzone 3, looking better than Uncharted

Our own Anthony Severino will be going hands-on with the game later this week, so be on the lookout for a preview coming early next month. In the meantime, be sure to sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on Killzone: Mercenary. Will it be enough to save the Vita?
