Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines responded to a question posed by user HotShame0 on Twitter on whether Bethesda's announced lineup at E3 2016 would "take away the focus from es6," or The Elder Scrolls VI.
Given Prey 2, Quake: Champions, and future Fallout 4 DLC, perhaps Bethesda is too invested to think about producing another massive entry in The Elder Scrolls series.
Pete Hines had a simple response: "We aren't working on TES6 at the moment."
Some of have speculated that Hines is referring to actual production instead of pre-production. It would, indeed, be highly unlikely that Bethesda hasn't talked about where TES6 will be heading after Skyrim. What can be inferred by the Hines' statement is that Bethesda will be working on TES6 eventually, so it's definitely in the back of their mind.
Bethesda is currently involved with expanding The Elder Scrolls world in the upcoming card game, Legends, the remaster Special Edition of Skyrim, and the continuation of The Elder Scrolls Online.
When do you think The Elder Scrolls VI might see the light of day?
