Nintendo: Next Console Metroid “Likely” Coming to NX

The next proper Metroid Prime game for console won't be coming to Wii U. Instead, we'll likely see a new entry in the series released for Nintendo's next console, currently codenamed NX.

"If we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so," Metroid producer Kensuke Tanabe told Eurogamer in an interview at E3 2015. "So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console."

When asked why Nintendo doesn't already have a new Metroid Prime game in development for its tablet-centric console, Tanabe added, "Truth be told, making HD games takes a lot of time and resources. I haven't been able to collect a team or the resources to do it."

Would you like to see a Metroid Prime 4, or do you think Nintendo should take the series in a completely new direction?
