The first Gears of War game is getting remade for Xbox One, according to a new report that just surfaced online.
Inside sources have told Polygon that not only is Microsoft's first-party studio Black Tusk working on a remaster of the original Gears, it's enlisting the help of developer Splash Damage for the new-gen makeover, as well as animation studio Plastic Wax, who will allegedly be remaking all the cutscenes.
Earlier this year, Black Tusk boss Rod Fergusson debunked rumors regarding the development of a Marcus Fenix Collection.
While I'm sure plenty of Gears fans would like an entire compilation of all three mainline entries, at least it looks like there's a good chance we'll be getting to play the first one on our Xbox Ones sometime in the (hopefully) not so distant future. I suspect a 2016 release in honor of the game's 10th anniversary.
