Star Wars: Battlefront Aligned With Episode VII, Getting Big Marketing Push [Update: Concept Art Revealed]

[Update] Hungry for some fresh info on Star Wars: Battlefront? Well, the folks over at DICE and Electronic Arts have released a brand-new piece of concept art, courtesy of IGN.

Check it.

[Original] Star Wars: Battlefront will launch later this year and Electronic Arts is going to make a major marketing push to ensure it's as successful as possible.

During the publisher's latest earnings call, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that the title will be out before Christmas 2015. Additionally, Battlefront is set to be "aligned with" J.J. Abrams' upcoming film Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which hits theaters on December 18.

"We're extremely excited about that," Jorgensen said during the call. "We think there's huge potential for that title. More to come in the next couple of months on that as more about the movie comes out as well as more about our title comes out. You should consider that a very large activity for us [this year] and a very large focus—similar to how we've thought about Battlefields in the past."

Are you eagerly anticipating the release of Star Wars: Battlefront later this year? Here's to hoping it has a smoother launch than Battlefield 4.
