Anda Seat Jungle 2 Review: ‘Great for working and gaming’

ANDA SEAT JUNGLE 2 GAMING CHAIR REVIEW.

Anda Seat is back again with a new gaming chair. This time there’s bonus functionality in the form of a footrest. This turns the Jungle chair of old into a new product, the Jungle 2. In addition to the retractable footrest, the Jungle 2 has the usual “racing chair” shape with additional pillows for lumbar and neck support. What’s more, there’s the extreme range of recline, meaning users can lie far back, should they want to. Does this all combine to make for a great gaming chair? This is my Anda Seat Jungle 2 gaming chair review.

The first puzzle

anda seat jungle 2 review

The first impressions for any gaming chair come during the build process. The best chairs I’ve used include very clear instructions and well-labeled parts. Anda Seat has done okay in the past, but I must say that the manual could do with better explanations for the more complicated steps. With that said, and with my history of putting an abnormal number of gaming chairs together, I managed to build the Anda Seat Jungle 2 in under half an hour. The footrest adds a step, but it’s not a big deal.

With the chair fully built, it was time to put the Jungle 2 through its paces. After maneuvering the neck and lumbar pillows into place, while also adjusting the height and recline with the levers, it was time to get working and playing.

Upgraded experience

After two weeks of using the Jungle 2 each day, I’m very happy with the experience. Anda Seat has clearly revisited the shape of the Jungle chair and I do feel better supported with the Jungle 2. Materials also appear to have been improved, so that’s a nice bonus. In normal use without reclining or using the footrest, I’d happily have the Jungle 2 as my daily driver.

However, it’s in the reclining and footrest where the Jungle 2 becomes more of a challenge. In the past, the recline already demanded some faith from the user. As a tall (6’7″) and heavy (230 lbs) chap, my frame proves quite the test for chairs with a 160-degree recline feature.

While I’ve never had a chair topple over, they can sometimes be teetering on the edge. Asking me to then put my feet up on a footrest is too much. I would advise minimal use of the recline when using the footrest, especially for heavier folks.

Of course, Anda Seat does list this as a medium chair and makes the weight allowances clear, so your mileage may vary. I do like the footrest, especially with the velvet-esque coating, but combining it with the full recline feels a little risky. All I’ll say to potential buyers is: be careful and don’t go throwing yourself backwards!

At the time of writing, the Jungle 2 gaming chair only comes in black. While I think it looks fantastic, some folks who are considering an upgrade may be sad to see the red and black combo missing.

Anda Seat Jungle 2 Review: The final verdict

At $299.99 (though on sale now for $249.99), the Anda Seat Jungle 2 is demanding a good chunk of change for some upgraded materials and the footrest. More budget-conscious buyers may want to check out the original Jungle chair, which is similar and available for much less during sales (it’s currently $159.99 thanks to the holiday discount).

For those who absolutely must have a footrest, however, the Jungle 2 delivers comfort, style, and a load of features that make it great for both working and gaming. Just be wary when going full recline!

  • Footrest is solid and comfortable.
  • Stylish black color looks great.
  • Though that is the only color option.
  • Recline and footrest combination can lead to balance issue.
