[image1]Good shooting, fellow American!
You’re a closet patriot. You don’t wear State of the Union underwear. You don’t raise bald eagles and train them to kill commies. You just think the U.S.A. is a fine place to be, the only place where people can be free to wrap themselves in patriotic emblems or burn them.
But if anyone, say, invaded America and wanted to turn it Nazi, well then, you might just have to quit your day job and exercise your second amendment rights in short controlled bursts. Until then, you don’t have to join a militia, you can just pick up the counterfactual Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and save New York from the fascists.
In Turning Point, you play as a NYC cab driver during the WWII invasion of the United States. It didn’t happen, but it could have, according to Turning Point. Set just a few years after the end of WWII, a series of what-ifs go the other way, and instead of parades for homecoming troops, giant Panzer tanks and blimps are unleashed on the streets of the Big Apple. And you, oh Cincinnatus of the thoroughfare, get to fight them off in the first WWII shooter to be set on American soil.
The game may be a little choppy right now, but be prepared for some epic battles. The shootout on steel girders hundreds of feet in the air looks vertiginous, and the opportunity to take down a blimp on 5th Avenue would spark excitement in anyone but Mr. Goodyear.
