what are you playing plants vs zombies battle for neighborville

What Are You Playing? (October 16, 2019)

It’s a big week for secrets in Team GR. There are a bunch of games we’re playing that we can’t talk about right now, but rest assured that our reviews will be going live sooner rather than later. Until then, we’ve shared some of the other games that we’ve been playing that we can talk about.

As always, let us know what YOU have been playing in the comments section below!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “I’m playing Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and a game that I can’t talk about just yet. I also can’t give you my final verdict on PvZ until October 18, though I may just wait until the public servers go live in order to dive in with players who haven’t been honing their skills with its Founder’s Edition for the past six weeks.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I’m playing some games I can’t reveal (insert snooty anime girl laughter) currently. For what I can talk about, I finally bit the bullet and bought a Nintendo 64DD. All I have for it right now is Mario Artist Polygon Studio, which is in Japanese, so I have no clue what I’m doing. I’m hoping to nab a copy of Sim City 64 soon, which will also be in Japanese, so I’m not sure what the point is. I mostly like to just fiddle with it and think about how cool it would have been had Nintendo not taken forever to develop it.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “I’m playing the Apex Legends Fight or Fright event, which includes a new Solos mode featuring a spooky-themed King’s Canyon (the original map has returned, albeit cursed!), as well as a number of cosmetic unlocks that can be earned a number of ways. It’s a big improvement over the events that have come before, so I’m eager to completed the time-limited challenges and unlock some scary loot!”

Michael Leri, features editor: “After finishing Stela, which is a decent if unremarkable game in the vein of Limbo, I jumped into Overwatch again… on the Switch. It’s undoubtedly the “worst” version of the game with the most inaccurate controls but there’s still enough here to where I’m sucked in again. I just wish I didn’t have to wear the default gear. I don’t want to get made fun of on the playground.”
