The Great THQ Wrap-Up

You may have noticed over the last week that I've been posting a lot of previews, hands-on impressions, and video interviews about upcoming THQ titles. In fairness, yes, a lot of those did pertain to Red Faction: Armageddon. But that isn't the only thing I saw and now that all my coverage is up and all the NDAs I signed have expired, I thought now would be as good a time as any to put it all together in a nice little package for everyone.

Because who knows? You may have missed my preview of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine or the accompanying interview. Or maybe you didn't catch me talking with UFC trainer Greg Jackson and now you can't stop crying. Well, dry those tears, because right below this paragraph are the links to every single article that has anything to do with the THQ press event. So go ahead and get yourself caught up. Just click on a title to go to the related article.

UFC Personal Trainer Interview – Greg Jackson is the man responsible for training some of the world's greatest MMA fighters and soon his virtual counterpart will tasked with an even greater challenge: getting me into shape. I talked with Greg about his role in the game and how it would help take me from overweight nerd to Greek Adonis (with diet and exercise, of course).

Red Faction: Armageddon Single Player Hands-On – On top of what I mentioned in my preview, there was also a level where I got to pilot a giant spider-like robot tank that shot missiles and lightning bolts which make people's heads explode. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is going to be one hell of a kick-ass game.

Hands-On With Red Faction: Armageddon's Multiplayer
– Imagine if instead of Zombies, Left4Dead had giant bugs that could crawl over walls or teleport or just straight-up hand your ass to you on a platter. Yeah, it's kinda like that.

Why Is There No Deathmatch in Red Faction: Armageddon?
Rojae Smith may have made an enjoyable survival mode with Infestation and totally obliterating your surrounding environment in Ruin mode is a blast (pardon the pun), but I still need to know why I can't bash my friend's heads in with a sledgehammer. We make him justify his decision in this heart-warming interview.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Preview – I don't play table-top strategy games and probably never will. But one thing I actually do is fuck shit up in third-person-shooters in a hardcore way. So in that sense, the Warhammer 40K universe finally appeals to me.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Interview
– When I made the obvious comparisons to a few other popular third-person games, Raphael Van Lierop got a little defensive. I'd imagine, though, that having everyone compare you to titles that aren't even half as old as your franchise, yet get all the credit for innovating, would upset me too.
