With the Holiday Season all but over, we are now hot on the heels of full-priced Steam games. Back to a $60 AAA titles, such as DOOM and Dishonored 2, and still reasonably priced, but not-as-cheap indie titles, such as a $15 Stardew Valley.
But we're here to tell you that a great number of these now full-price games are simply bad buys, to be avoided at all costs until, at very least, a dramatic sale.

2. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Gold Edition
Cost: $60 rn rnIn a way, Advanced Warfare has a lot of the same problems as The Amazing Spider-Man - it wasn't all that great of a game and its arguably better sequels, Black Ops III and Infinite Warfare are the same price. rn rnBut, for the sake of argument, let's forget all that. Let's say you think of Advanced Warfare as the last bastion of Call of Duty games and see a $60 price tag as a steal. rn rnEven YOU might want to check out the Steam reviews before purchasing. Apparently, man people are suffering from bug that doesn't allow them to connect to any multiplayer game, and everyone who is able to connect is insisting that no one is playing anyhow. So, you'll essentially be paying $60 for the Advanced Warfare campaign, and, as even Call of Duty fanboys have to admit, that's a bad buy. -
5. The Amzing Spider-Man
Cost: $40

rnThe Amazing Spider-Man is a game from 2012 that, by all accounts, wasn't very good, and its asking price rivals some very good games that came out in 2016.

rnEven more ridiculous is that The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the more recent game in the series that came out in 2014 and was at least slightly better, is also $40.

rnSo unless you're really into the story of these two games, which, by the way, is a carbon copy of the ill-fated movie duo, you can skip straight to the second one for the same cost, and even that is dubiously priced. -
4. Ark: Survival Evoled + Scorched Earth
Cost: $50

rnArk: Survival Evolved picked up some heat, no pun intended, for Studio Wildcard's decision to release Scorched Earth, a paid DLC expansion while the game is still in Early Access, and it didn't even come free for original Early Access backers.

rnSo, combined with the base game, you're looking at a total hit of $50, which is nothing to sneeze at, especially for an unfinished product that doesn't have a concrete release date.

3. Battleborn
Cost: $60

rnMan, where to start with Battleborn? While many chalk up Battleborn's struggles to a release window that directly competed with Blizzard's 2016 sensation, Overwatch, there was also the issue of cost.

rnEven if Battleborn released on its own, $60 is still a steep asking price for a multiplayer game. What makes this even a worse buy now is that its been rumored to be undergoing a Free-to-Play transition here in the coming months.

rnAnd even then, it will be a last-ditch effort to save a game whose player count is dwindling with every tick of the clock, so a $60 price tag needs a serious mark down. -

1. Train Simulator 2017 + DLC
Cost: ~$6,000

rnThe base game of Train Simulator 2017 is $40, which is top-shelf pricing for a simulator game as it is (Cities: Skylines is $30 and Planet Coaster - one of the most acclaimed games of 2016 - is $45).
