After spending the better part of yesterday bemoaning the state of PC gaming, primarily as it relates to the AAA gaming market and the disappointing news regarding Red Dead Redemption 2, I had to take a stroll down optimism lane. I discovered on this journey two things that have me looking up, at least slightly.
1. The change.org petition to bring Red Dead Redemption 2 to PC has almost reached 20,000 signatures in less that 24 hours.
2. Several noteworthy games are still coming to PC in 2017.
Here is a look at the potential best PC games coming in 2017.

For Honor
You'll probably want to (or have to?) use a game pad for this one, but, having extensively played the Alpha, I can tell you that For Honor is the genuine article, a potential game changer in competitive multiplayer games.

rnWhile it won't support split screen, that's not too much of a concern for PC gamers, and it's still been shown to be one of the most balanced games in years. -
Ghost Recon Wildlands
If what's been shown so far is to be believed, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be either a heap of fun or an intellectual challenge, and you'll be able to choose which one.

rnWith its freedom of choice mechanic, you can choose to go in guns blazing, or take a much more tactical approach getting in and getting out without anyone seeing you, much like a ... well ... ghost. -
Prey (2017)
While not much is known about Prey in its current state, they folks at Arkane Studios (the same guys behind the Dishonored series) have sure been able to drum up a lot of intrigue with their cryptic, horrifying trailers.

rnIn a way, Prey is sporting its own freedom of choice, in that you can choose to play through the whole game as a woman instead of a man. -
Resident Evil 7
When it comes down to it, the Resident Evil series is one that's been reinvented with almost every title it releases. So we're far from the days of a third person cover shooter with RPG elements, and we're now in the full-on survival horror with Resident Evil 7 - Biohazard.

rnWhile I've heard mixed things about its VR support, the main game is nothing short of terrifying and will likely compete with Outlast 2 as the scariest game of the year. -
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
A welcome return to the South Park series, The Fractured But Whole appears to be everything we wanted and then some. The sequel boasts a hilarious new setting, taking the Coon & Friends route, and a revamped combat system, in addition to the same writing and voice acting we've grown to love from series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
