Xbox One Release Calendar – May 2016

Traditionally, May is kind of a slow month for new releases, mostly because of the expectations of the upcoming E3 convention happening this June. This time, however, it’s different as you will see from the Xbox One May release calendar.

It might be that many companies are trying a different approach in the market, or they already have planned exclusive announcements for E3. Whatever the case, with so many triple-A titles, you can be certain that you’ll be staying indoors a lot this spring and well into the summer.

These are known release dates at the time of this article’s publishing. Things may change from this point forward. Let us know of any changes you may discover.

Battleborn – May 3rd

Start off the month with the stylish cooperative first-person shooter with an objective-based campaign mode, set in the distant future called Battleborn. Right now, the game looks amazing; hopefully it will bring a lot of happy and frantic gaming hours.

DOOM – May 13th

You are a lone DOOM Marine, the only one left at Mars space station, and all hell is about to break loose… unless you save the day. I remember doing just that with the original back in 1993, and I’m eager to send these new demons back from wherever they came from once again!

Homefront: The Revolution – May 17th

Your country needs you! It is the year 2029, two years after the events of the first game, and you take on the role of Ethan "Birdy" Brady as he fights with new resistance against the Greater Korean Republic (GKR). Get yourself ready for an open-world type of game with many districts to explore in a promising storyline. I am expecting a lot from this one.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Overwatch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, Dangerous Golf, Tropico 5: Penultimate Edition – May 24th

Three huge triple-A games have released this year so far, and there's already not enough time to play them all thoroughly. And then along comes May 24th with not one, but five more great titles. First in line is Dangerous Golf, a miniature golf game in which players attempt to cause the most damage and destruction in small spaces. Then Rafael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo are back to save the Big Apple from Shredder and the Foot Clan in TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan.

You'll also have an opportunity to take control of the infamous island of Tropico once more, become El Presidente, and guide this small but prosperous island to become a true paradise in Tropico 5: Penultimate Edition. Blizzard is about to shake the grounds of first-person shooter games with their highly-anticipated title Overwatch. It's a team-based shooter game set in future Earth with a lot of different characters. Finally, join Faith Connor in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst for another epic parkour action-adventure.
