Top 10 Active Video Game Kickstarter Campaigns

It's not easy to be an indie dev these days. Think about it: Everyone's into indies now. Gone are the days when only programming nerds and well-paid triple-A studios make games. Competition is growing in the indie space like never before, as gamers are realizing not every experience needs flashy graphics. Sometimes all you need are a few colorful quadrilaterals and a powerful story.

Some of these games dare to tell stories others are too afraid to touch, while others serve as throwbacks to the earlier era of games. In short, there's an indie for everyone, and that's a very wonderful thing. However, the sudden boom in indie development comes at a cost, as there's been an alarming increase in projects that suck, competing for your hard-earned dollar on crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter.

Fear not, for we are here to help. I've combed through Kickstarter's video game section and selected the ten top-caliber indie projects that are currently seeking funding. These projects may never see the light of day, but the offerings are intriguing. If they intrigue you as well, feel free to click on the game title in the gallery and you will be directed to its campaign page.
