Planetside 2 Now Reentering Atmosphere in 2015, “A Lot That Needs to Get Done”

Despite a few E3 showings, Planetside 2 has left gamers with their thumbs twiddling in 2014 particularly if you're a PlayStation 4 or MMO gamer, though developers at Sony Online Entertainment hope to start the game's beta next month.

Developer John Smedley told a fan on Twitter that the game "was approved first pass and goes up either the week of the 13th or 20th. We will know when we are back on the 5th." Previously, developers had told press that the game could be expected in a playable beta state within 2014, though the team has been honest about the possibility of delays.

Speaking with GameSpot in November, Matt Higby said "As much as it sounds like we're blowing smoke, we're working hard to release a game that feels like a full-on console experience and not just like a port."

"So it's taken us quite a long time to re-jigger our user interface and our controls," Higby continued. "There's a lot that needs to get done." Click the game title above or below to visit our hub for images, video, and hands-on impressions.
