Tonight marks the series finale of the FX original smash hit Sons of Anarchy, and though the television show's seven seasons will come to an end tonight, fans of the show will soon be able to visit Charming, CA via their mobile devices.
Dubbed Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect, the game will take players inside the lives of the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club, allowing players to “experience the treachery, graphic action, intrigue, and life and death decision making” that fans of the show have come to know and love, according to a statement announcing the game. The claim is supported by the actions of series creator Kurt Sutter, as he and his creative team have signed on board to The Prospect to craft an original story that's as faithful to the show's mythos as possible, though no plot details or images were released at this moment.
A Sons of Anarchy video game has long been stuck in development hell, with reports in 2012 stating that the idea was “dead” after facing industry disinterest but rumors back in February that it was back on and “f***ing awesome,” according to Sutter. Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect is being developed by Silverback Games and Orpheus Interactive, and will be distributed as an episodic title via Fox Digital Entertainment, premiering in 2015 on mobile devices exclusively, with no plans to go to console.
