Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Rolls Out for PS5 and PC, Xbox Coming Soon

Those of you who’ve been playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5 or Steam will be pleased to know the new update has started rolling out. The latest version of Capcom‘s action RPG aims to undo one of the game’s controversies.

Plus bug fixes

In a recent post on X, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been updated, but only on the PlayStation 5 and PC. The message says that it will roll out for Xbox Series X|S “in the next few days.” As for what’s in the update, one notable addition is the option to start a new game “when save data already exists.”

This is a response to criticism from the community that came about so soon after the game was released a week ago. Many discovered they were unable to wipe over their current playthrough with a fresh character. Capcom noted this and promised it would rectify it, which the studio now appears to have done.

There have also been tweaks to the PS5 port, including adding the ability to switch Motion Blur and Ray Tracing on/off, as well as adding an option to set the Frame Rate to Max 30fps. The Steam version has improvements to the DLSS image upscaling feature, while both versions have had bug fixes and other adjustments.

The full patch notes for the new Dragon’s Dogma 2 update are as follows:

PlayStation 5/Steam

  • Adding the option to start a new game when save data already exists.
  • Changing the number of “Art of Metamorphosis” items available at Pawn Guilds in the game to 99.
  • Making the quest that allows players to acquire their own dwelling (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game.
  • Miscellaneous text display issues.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.

PlayStation 5

  • Adding the option* to switch Motion Blur on/off in Options.
  • Adding the option* to switch Ray Tracing on/off in Options.
  • Adding the option to set Frame Rate at Max 30fps in Options.

Steam

  • Fixing an issue related to the display of models under some specific settings.

As mentioned, be on the lookout for details about the Xbox patch, which is due to be released soon.
