Helldivers 2 Hiring to ‘Beef Up’ Post-Launch Content as Game Peaks on Steam

Since releasing a week ago, Arrowhead Game Studios‘ sequel Helldivers 2 has been enjoying a good amount of success on PC and PS5. In fact, the developer seems to be growing, as new job opportunities should be opening up soon.

Game is number two on Steam

In a recent post on X, Helldivers 2 creative director Johan Pilestedt has said the recent popularity of the game means the team will “start looking for more amazing developers” soon. Vacancies are yet to be announced, according to the post, with the end goal being to “beef up our content plans.”

While there have been some teething problems with the sequel, the studio has been keeping on top of things by sending out hotfixes and patches. However, it doesn’t appear to have deterred its initial success, with the game currently showing as “Mostly Positive” on Steam.

Speaking of Steam, Helldivers 2 is – at the time of writing – sitting at the number two spot on the Top Sellers list, just behind the Steam Deck. In fact, it briefly knocked the Deck off its pedestal recently, but it looks as though the Valve handheld PC is the reining champion once more.

As for the game itself, we seem to be seeing a rise in players on PC at the moment. According to the latest data from the third-party website SteamDB, the sequel reached a peak concurrent player count of 203,644 recently. As of this article going live, more than 91,000 people are playing.

Who’s to say how long this popularity will last. Too often we see new releases reach the skies before they come crashing back down, as many move on to something else. However, with Arrowhead now looking to hire, we could see greater things coming to Helldivers 2 in the near future.
