Death Stranding 2: Sam Porter Bridges holding a baby close to his face.

Death Stranding 2 State of Play Trailer Revealed, Game Coming 2025

The recent State of Play gave us a glimpse of what’s to come to PlayStation, one of which was the new trailer for Death Stranding 2. As well as revealing the subtitle for the game, we also got a launch window, all wrapped up in Hideo Kojima‘s signature weirdness.

A snarky puppet pal? Sure, why not

In the recent trailer – which goes on for over nine and a half minutes – we get a taste of Death Stranding 2, complete with gameplay. We’re also told that it’s going to be called “On the Beach.”

As for what you can find in the teaser, fans of the original DS will already be familiar with the main characters and set pieces. Norman Reedus returns as Sam Porter Bridges, and we get to see the continuation of the first installment, so spoilers are plenty in the video below.

In terms of a release date, there’s no exact day yet, but we know that it’s coming in 2025. That gives us about a year, if not slightly longer, to wait and see where Kojima Productions takes its big IP.

Much like 2019’s Death Stranding, the upcoming sequel will be exclusive to PS5. There’s also no mention yet of a PC port, but many will anticipate it coming to Windows at some point.

The State of Play trailer for Death Stranding 2 does a fantastic job of sucking us in. We know the game’s going to have plenty of odd moments and lots of complicated plot. It just wouldn’t be a Kojima game without those things.
