Redfall: three hunters preparing to take on some vampires.

Redfall Experienced a 50% Increase in Players Recently

Redfall is easily one of the biggest disappointments in gaming for 2023, and, as a result, player numbers have dropped significantly. However, it looks as though things are picking up slightly as the game mysteriously experienced an uptick recently.

It’s still pretty low, though

As spotted by PCGamesN, stats from Steam Charts show that there’s been an increase in the number of people killing vampires in Redfall. Within the last 24 hours or so, 181 players were recorded, while SteamDB shows 184.

While that’s still low for a triple-A release – especially one published by Bethesda – it does represent a 50% gain. It’s still a long way off its all-time peak, which was 6,124, but both charts show that a few more people are coming back to it.

Why would this be? It’s hard to say, but it could be because the game is currently 75% off on Steam. In fact, Steam shows that recent reviews regard Redfall as being “Mostly Positive.” However, it’s still showing as “Mostly Negative” overall. This ever-so-slight popularity could also be because developer Arkane Austin released an update not long ago.

Given that the vampire-hunting FPS has got the Arkane stamp all over it, many expected a lot more from the Dishonored and Deathloop studio.

However, with poor AI, plenty of blatant bugs and issues, and a world that felt pretty bland, Redfall has been largely forgotten about by gamers, except for the 184 people that played recently, not to mention the 73 that are in the game right now.
