Knights of the Old Republic Remake Is ‘Still Being Worked On’

Star Wars fans have been eager for news about the remake of Knights of the Old Republic that’s said to be in development. While recent rumors suggest no studio is currently working on the game, two people from Saber Interactive have apparently confirmed the project is still being made.

Whether it will be released is another matter

That’s according to Bloomberg’s own Jason Schreier, who said in a recent post on X that, yes, the KOTOR remake is still in development. Not much is known about it, but the journalist assures readers that the source that confirms this comes straight from the developer itself.

However, Schreier also can’t “say whether the KOTOR Remake will ever actually come out,” but the insistence that it’s still in the works will offer some reassurance for fans.

This comes shortly after Game Bomb’s Jeff Grubb said Knights of the Old Republic was “not being worked on right now.” While this wasn’t officially confirmed by Saber or parent company Embracer Group, many would have taken Grubb at his word, especially considering the known uncertainty of the remake.

Speculations about the project looked bleaker still when Embracer’s CEO Lars Wingefors declined to make any comment about whether KOTOR was in development or not. As such, a lot of people would have walked away assuming the worst. Until Schreier’s recent tweet, that is.

News about the anticipated remake being delayed circled last year, so it’s been a tough time for anyone waiting to hear about any updates.

As of now, it’s hard to say whether Knights of the Old Republic is being worked on and/or whether it will ever be released, but Schrier’s tweet could offer a glimmer of hope.
