Xbox Is Giving Away an Edible Chocolate Controller

Many times, gamers will have been playing their Xbox only to suddenly get a craving for something sweet. Now, gaming and snacking are coming together as one, as Microsoft is giving you a chance to win a controller made out of real chocolate.

Part of a special chocolate-themed bundle

A recent Xbox Wire blog post announced this unique sweepstakes, in which Xbox will give away an official controller that’s completely edible. This is to celebrate the release of the upcoming new Wonka film, which is coming to the US on December 15.

As well as the controller, prizes also include a chocolate-themed (non-edible) Xbox Series X|S console, complete with a “unique console display modeled after the magic of Willy Wonka’s iconic chocolate store,” and an “(X)box” of chocolates. The winner will also receive a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The giveaway is running between November 13 and December 14, 2023. Participants can enter by following Xbox on Twitter and retweeting the promotional post. Full terms and conditions of the competition can be found here. The winner will be messaged via Twitter DM “no more than fourteen (14) days following the drawing with prize claim instructions.”

As prizes go, this is definitely something else. Not long ago, Xbox unveiled its own credit card, and before that, there was a chance to win a TMNT controller that smelled like pizza.

In that regard, maybe an edible peripheral isn’t that odd. Remember, if you want a chance to win the Xbox chocolate controller and the other prizes, you must do so via Twitter before 8 p.m. PT on December 14.
