Although there’s been no official word yet, there’s a chance that WB Games Montreal‘s Gotham Knights could be coming to the Switch at some point. This is based on a recent rating that lists the game under the Nintendo console.
What do we know about the Gotham Knights Switch version?
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (also known as the ESRB) has listed Gotham Knights as a Nintendo Switch game under “Platforms,” along with PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
The information was spotted by Reddit user ezidro and suggests that the action RPG is getting a port to the hybrid system. Of course, it should be reiterated that, at the time of writing, this has not been confirmed by WB or its associated affiliates.
While the game was only moderately well-received overall (though we reviewed it favorably), many Nintendo users will be pleased that it may be coming to the console. It can only be hoped that the developer or publisher will come forward and shine some light on these speculations.
Set in Gotham City, Gotham Knights sees you taking on the role of one of four main characters. Players can choose between Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, or Red Hood. The story takes place after Batman himself succumbs to an attack, initiating a self-destruct sequence in the Batcave, with his death alerting the titular Knights.
Although some see it as a spiritual successor to Rocksteady‘s Arkham series (with Arkham Knight being the last entry), Gotham Knights takes place in its own timeline. Reviewers were critical of the game’s story and objectives, as well as for being poorly optimized.
