Papers, Please Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Discount, LCD ‘Demake’

Considered to be one of the greatest indie releases of the last decade, Lucas Pope‘s smash hit Papers, Please turns ten years old today. To celebrate this milestone, the developer is selling the game at a reduced price and has unleashed some goodies.

Glory to Arstotzka!

If you’ve yet to play Papers, Please, now seems like the perfect opportunity, especially as it’s currently on sale for just $1.99. However, this is a short discount and is only going on until the weekend, according to a post on Steam.

On top of that, Pope is also selling some new shirts, stickers, posters, and more, and the soundtrack has been released on a number of streaming services.

Pope has also unleashed a new version of Papers, Please in a browser format. This is actually a “demake” of the game called LCD, Please, named after the fact that it resembles an LCD device from a bygone era. Ironic seeing as the main game already looks pretty retro.

You can check out this demade version as well as the other goodies by going to the website.

It’s hard to imagine that Papers, Please was released in 2013. A lot has changed in the world of gaming since then, but the indie scene has only thrived. Releases such as Undertale, Stardew Valley, Hotline Miami, Super Meat Boy, Braid, and more have gone down as some of the best indie games ever released. Pope’s dystopian offering counts itself among these influential titles, and sits pretty on Steam with a score of “Overwhelmingly Positive.”

Considering Papers, Please is currently 80% off, many would be remiss for not checking out this indie gem.
