Retro Jurassic Park Games Coming to PC and Current-Gen This Year

If you want to experience some dino nostalgia, a series of classic Jurassic Park games from a bygone era are getting re-released. A bunch of retro titles will be gathered up as part of a collection and will be available on PC and consoles.

There isn’t a date yet, but a recent YouTube video from Limited Run Games announced the return of some of these dinosaur-themed games, which will be releasing some time this year.

Dubbed the Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection, you’ll once again be able to play such old school hits as the NES, SNES, and Game Boy versions of Jurassic Park that hearkens back to the mid 1990s.

The collection will also feature Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues, which was originally released for the aforementioned SNES and Game Boy in 1994 and 1995, respectively.

As for which systems you’ll be able to play these on, according to the video, they’ll be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5, Steam, and Xbox, though it doesn’t say which specific Xbox console it will be.

On top of that, there are some more classic games that are due for re-release. Keep an eye on Limited Run’s socials for more details.

Retro gaming is very much in these days. Whether it’s because people want a change to the expensive and more cinematic brand of modern gaming, or it’s an appeal to older fans who grew up with the consoles of the 90s, bringing old games back is quite popular at the minute.

As a franchise, Jurassic Park didn’t really strike much of a chord beyond its first couple of films. As such, the collection that’s being put out seems like it’s going to be more for those who want to go back to the early days of the hit dinosaur media empire.
