18 minutes of gameplay to be exact

While the world waits for Fallout 5, which Bethesda confirmed is coming after Elder Scrolls 6, there are still plenty of Fallout mods out there, including this upcoming one.

Over on the Nuevo México YouTube channel, a new video has been posted which shows plenty of gameplay from the upcoming DLC. Over the course of nearly 20 minutes, you’ll see what’s to be expected in this ambitious custom story.

Set in the year 2166 in the Land of Enchantment, Nuevo México (which means “New Mexico” in English) is said to take things back to the earlier entries in the franchise, placing the story just five years after the original Fallout game.

Much like the official entries in the series, this DLC-sized unofficial mod will be packed full of high-octane action, as well as significant role-playing elements in which “every choice made will revolutionize the future for better or worse,” according to the description.

Currently, there’s no release date for Nuevo México, but additional videos are being planned by the development team. It’s also going to be free, presumably to those who have legitimate copies of New Vegas.

Right now is a pretty good time to be a Fallout fan. While it’s going to be years until the fifth installment comes out, we have this ambitious mod to look forward to, not to mention Fallout: London, another immense fan-made modification which is being built in the Fallout 4 engine.
