Massive Entertainment has finally revealed its Star Wars game after announcing it in 2021. It is called Star Wars: Outlaws and is coming out in 2024 (as was rumored) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Star Wars: Outlaws will be at the Ubisoft Forward event
The trailer didn’t have gameplay and just showed the general tone of the game. It stars Kay Vess and is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This is, as Ubisoft has previously stated, an open-world game (a first for Star Wars) and has players exploring new and familiar planets. Vess is also an “emerging scoundrel seeking freedom” that’s fighting her way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates.
While the trailer was brief, more will be shown at the Ubisoft Forward event on June 12. Ubisoft was more clear after the trailer and confirmed that gameplay would be at the show.
Ubisoft also listed the studios working on the game. While Massive Entertainment is leading, Ubisoft’s Annecy, Bucharest, Chengdu, Milan, Montpellier, Paris, Shanghai, and Toronto teams are listed on the game’s website.
