Street Fighter 6 Open Beta Announced, Includes 8 Fighters

Capcom has already dropped a Street Fighter 6 demo and couple closed betas. But now the team is taking it to the next level, as it just announced a Street Fighter 6 open beta.

When is the Street Fighter 6 beta release date?

The Street Fighter 6 open beta is kicking off on May 19 at midnight PT and will run until May 21 at 11:59 p.m. PT. It will include eight characters — Luke, Jamie, Chun-Li, Juri, Kimberly, Guile, Ryu, and Ken — and be on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. PlayStation 4 owners will have to sit this one out. Those who want to jump in will also have to link their Capcom IDs to their system of choice. PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold will also be required to use the beta’s online features.

It’ll feature many of the same features seen in the last closed beta, such as character creation, ranked and casual matches, cross-platform play, two control types (Modern and Classic), six commentators, the Battle Hub, tournaments, training mode, a shop, the DJ booth, photo spot, and Extreme Battles, Game Center, and challenges that all update daily. There will also be six different maps.

This beta is dropping just two weeks before the game releases in full. However, despite that proximity, it’ll still differ from the final build, as Capcom noted in the announcement.
