Ubisoft has left the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date window rather widow. However, it may have gotten just a bit more narrow, according to a leaked picture.
When does Assassin’s Creed Mirage come out?
The report references a post made on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit. This post was reportedly made by a GameStop employee who took a photo of the company’s internal systems. In the picture, a list of release dates for various games can be seen, with Assassin’s Creed Mirage listed with an August release date window.
It’s unknown whether the image above will end up being true or not, but Ubisoft has said that Mirage will release sometime in 2023. Insider Gaming also reported in December 2022 that Mirage was targeting August. Past Assassin’s Creed titles have traditionally come out closer to the holiday season.
Currently, not too much is known about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It will be set before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and tell the coming-of-age story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief in 9th-century Baghdad who becomes a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. The game is also said to be returning to the roots of the Assassin’s Creed series, with an emphasis on linear storytelling and stealth gameplay instead of a large, open world to explore. But so far, details are under wraps.
The game was first reported on back in February and only more reports started dropping since then. After another report and a leak showing official artwork, Ubisoft went to Twitter to confirm its existence. Two more reports also happened after the confirmation, revealing the rest of Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed-related slate for the Ubisoft Forward event.
