Redfall 30 FPS Framerate

Redfall 30 FPS Limit Revealed for Xbox Series X|S and One Launch

Bethesda and developer Arkane Austin has revealed that Redfall will have a 30 FPS limit on Xbox Series X|S at launch. Specifically, this Xbox console exclusive will only have a Quality Mode when it arrives on its May 2, 2023 release date. The Xbox Series X version will be at 4K 30 FPS, whereas the Xbox Series S version will only be at 1440p 30 FPS.

Redfall 60 FPS mode will be added via update after launch

Fortunately, as indicated by a tweet on the game’s official Twitter account, Redfall will be getting a patch after launch that will add 60 FPS Performance mode. There is, however, no set release date for when this be available.

As you might suspect, fans reacting to the tweet are disheartened about the news, with some wondering why the game hasn’t been delayed so that it can launch with 60 FPS right out of the gate. A co-operative multiplayer game like this requires a strong userbase at launch to sustain itself over time, so some argue that Bethesda should take the time to improve the frame rate.

Redfall also came under fire when it was revealed that the game’s single-player mode would require an always online connection. Game director Harvey Smith stated in March to Eurogamer that the studio was actively working to make offline single-player possible.
