Xbox One Sells More in China in One Week Than One Month on Sale in Japan

Microsoft has never had much luck selling its video game hardware to the far east, though its next-generation Xbox One hardware debuted in China to strong sales over the course of just one week particularly when compared to a month on sale in Japan.

With Xbox One the first officially released console in the country in fourteen years, over 100,000 hardware units were sold in the first week though we don't know details as to how many copies of software were moved or how many things like extra controllers were bought.

According to a report by Chinese news website 17173.com, Microsoft's Chinese partner BesTV says Zhang and Shanghai Media Group, its partent companies, hope to sell over one million Xbox One consoles within a year of release.
