According to Shoryuken, location testing will soon begin on Tekken 7 meaning Bandai Namco have a version of the game ready for arcades in the far east and players will get to try new mechanics, characters, and abilities dubbed Power Crush Moves.

Of course, don't expect these moves to crush candies. Tekken 7 features some heavy hitters both from the franchise's past and brand new brawlers like Claudio and Katarina, pictured above on a promotional stand tweeted by @Yuu_Norespect, a Tekken player based in Japan.

Bandai Namco also detailed the aforementioned Power Crush moves in a document shared with Shoryuken. Power Crush moves essentially act like Street Fighter IV's focus attacks in which incoming damage from an opponent is negated by ther power move. Shoryuken says that this gambit system can work in your favor or against you.

"You can perform the attack repeatedly and repeatedly receive blows, but will still receive the damage, so pay attention to your vitality. Power Crush is also only effective against high or mid attacks." The initial lineup for Tekken 7 includes the following characters:

  • Kazuha
  • Heihachi
  • Lars
  • Asuka
  • Lili
  • Alisa
  • Paul
  • Law
  • Xiaoyu
  • King
  • Dragunov
  • Bryan
  • Leo
  • Feng
  • Steve
  • Hwoarang
