Atrioc Apologizes For Deepfake Drama and Offers to Pay For Female Streamers’ Legal Action

Twitch’s Atrioc has issued a written statement and apology after he was caught looking at NSFW deepfakes of female streamers during a livestream. Those spotted in the thumbnail of a website page as Atrioc alt-tabbed during his stream, included Pokimane and Maya Higa, but Atrioc claims this was a preview rather than a video he watched. The statement comes after Atrioc livestreamed a public apology the morning after the deepfake drama was exposed.

It was later discovered that his close friend and colleague Ludwig’s girlfriend, QTCinderella, also featured on the adult deepfakes site, among countless other women in the content creator and influencer space. Atrioc has now offered to cover the legal costs of ensuring the website stays down, after its creator removed it, as well as any further action the women may want to take against the person responsible.

Atrioc stepping away from streaming and OFFBRAND to give “full focus” to NSFW deepfakes takedown

Atrioc said that his statement was “long overdue,” before apologizing specifically to both Maya and Pokimane. He acknowledged that the pair were “sexualized against your will,” and said he was “sorry my actions have lead to further exploitation of you and your body.” This reflected Pokimane’s own simple response to the deepfakes, where she asked people to “stop sexualizing people without their consent.”

The Twitch streamer then went a step further, saying that he is “working to cover the financial cost of the takedown [of the deepfakes website] as well as all legal fees for all women affected,” through the use of Ryan Morrison’s law firm. He committed to giving his “full focus” to this cause, as well as “engaging more law firms to continue to remove this content from other areas of the internet such as Reddit,” adding that he is “stepping away from content creation and OFFBRAND,” the company Atrioc co-founded with Ludwig, Nathan Stanz, and Nick Allen.
