Xbox One Launch Week Sales in Japan Barely Break 20K

I'm sure to no one's surprise, Xbox One had an incredibly soft launch in Japan, moving a mere 23,562 units in its first week.

This figure, as reported by Famitsu, spans Thursday, September 4th to Sunday, September 7th, and pales in comparison to the 62,135 opening sales of Xbox 360. And judging by how Microsoft's last-gen console did in the region in the long run, I'd say the future isn't particularly bright for Xbox One across the Pacific.

As far as software is concerned, the most popular game has been Titanfall, which sold 22,416 units, thanks in large part to the console bundle. Following just behind was Kinects Sports Rivals with 14,191 units sold and Dead Rising 3 at 7,330 in sales.

GameRevolution's own Heath Hindman scoped out the scene in Japan on Xbox One's launch day and his findings were…. Ah, just watch the video.
