Disney Infinity Featured as Free Download on Nintendo Wii U

While many younger gamers have probably gotten a lot out of Disney Infinity's Toy Box mode, there may be a few families looking to upgrade to Wii U without shelling out money for a new Disney Infinity playset just before Disney Infinity 2.0 arrives so Nintendo and Activision will offer the original Disney Infinity game as a free download on Nintendo Wii U.

This allows those who already own Disney Infinity toys and the platform that brings them to life in-game to upgrade to this version without buying a new copy of the game for Wii U.

If you've got the Wii Starter Pack for Disney Infinity and a Wii U console, head to the Nintendo eShop and download the Wii U version of Disney Infinity so you can launch to it directly from the Wii U menu (as opposed to playing the game via Wii U's backwards compatibility). You'll notice quite a jump in the game's visuals and the Wii U version also allows for GamePad touchscreen controls in Toy Box level design.
