Sega Financials Reveal Significant Profit Drop

Sega's quarterly financials are in and they don't look so hot, as profits were down considerably.

During the first quarter of the financial year, the publisher saw a disheartening 57.4 percent decline in profit thanks to such a thin lineup of game releases. In fact, the only title released for the quarter was Persona Q, which still has yet to make its way outside of Japan.

During the quarter, Sega made ¥88.3 billion ($858 million) in revenue, while net profits fell to ¥5.5 billion. Half-year losses are anticipated to be approximately ¥7 billion ($68 million).

Fortunately, the rest of the year will likely turn things around for the company, with the release of Persona Q in the west, as well as games like Sonic Boom and Alien: Isolation.
