Neverwinter Heads to Xbox One in 2015

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios announced today that Neverwinter, the free-to-play MMORPG that brings Dungeons & Dragons to your thumbs (or as it has in the past, mouse and keyboard), will make the jump to Xbox One in 2015.

Perfect World CEO Alan Chen commented on the news:

Neverwinter is our premier title to bring to console players. Consoles are a perfect fit for action-oriented MMORPGs like Neverwinter, and we are thrilled to be one of the first publishers to bring premium free-to-play titles to leading next-gen platforms. Being able to bring Neverwinter to the Xbox One is a critical achievement for Perfect World. It is our first step taking our games beyond the PC market.

Players must have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play Neverwinter, despite it being a free-to-play game. Neverwinter continues to receive updates on PC since launching last year, but Brand Director Nathan Stewart says D&D fans have a lot to look forward to.

"The addition of new platforms is another piece of exciting news for Dungeons & Dragons fans in this pivotal year," Stewart offered. "We continue to work closely with Perfect World and Cryptic Studios to bring exciting new stories to players around the world."
