Latest Guild Wars 2 Update Adds Showdown With the Elder Dragon Mordremoth

Players can now fight the Elder Dragon Mordremoth in Guild Wars 2 thanks to a new update from ArenaNet that opens up The Dragon's Reach: Part 1.

The latest update to 2012's biggest MMO launch offers a few tiers to explore in your quest to level, loot, and do battle. Specifically, ArenaNet describes the quest in four steps:

  • The Call Goes Out: each race in Guild Wars 2 has a different path towards Mordremoth that'll "take determination and some daring acts to persuade the world's leaders to put the greater good above their own troubles."
  • Corruption Spreads: Mordremoth's "corruptive power is spreading" so players much push back attacks in Concordia, Fort Salma, and the far reaches of Ascalon.
  • Story Journal: players who log in will have "permanent access to the story of The Dragon's Reach: Part 1." That means even if you download the update and don't play through the quest, you can revisit the narrative thread in a new Story Journal feature and go after new achievements.
  • Reap Your Rewards: this quest line features several new treasures and unlockables.

Guild Wars 2 has continued development into almost its second year on the market. If you're thinking about playing the game now, don't forget to read our review. Visit www.GuildWars2.com for more information and to play.
