Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Confirmed for September 23 Release

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, aka Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition, has been confirmed by Disney Interactive (how many times can we say Disney in a sentence?) for a North American release on September 23, 2014. This isn't that much of a surprise since Target leaked the release date earlier, but I suppose we have to expect retailers to put up flyers that cause video game PR teams to facepalm.

Pre-ordering the Starter Pack for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes until September 22 will net a bonus Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figure. You can actually pre-order the game this week at San Diego Comic-Con at the Disney Infinity Pop-up Shop and at the Marvel booth.

Just yesterday, much of the cast from the latest Guardians of the Galaxy were announced as characters for the title. And just a month before that, Merida and Maleficent were brought into the fold as well. We already have several sets slated, including The Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Hulk), the Spider-Man set (Spider-Man, Nova, Venom, Iron Fist, Nick Fury), plus Stitch and Tinker Bell.
