The first proper image of Mario from the upcoming Super Mario movie has allegedly been leaked by a McDonalds employee, showing how the platforming hero — set to be portrayed by Chris Pratt — will appear in the upcoming film.

First front-facing image of Super Mario Movie leaks online

An image posted to Twitch streamer ConnorEatsPants’ Discord server allegedly features the first front-facing image we have of Chris Pratt’s Mario, showing the heroic plumber in all his glory.

The image was shared by Connor via Twitter and can be viewed below:

Nintendo previously posted the below teaser for the 2023 film ahead of this week’s Nintendo Direct, though this only showed Mario from behind, looking out onto the Mushroom Kingdom and Peach’s Castle sitting atop a hill.

The film, seemingly titled the Super Mario Bros. Movie according to a tweet from Nintendo, will be shown off during a Nintendo Direct presentation on October 6 at 1:05 PM P.T. This will include a world premiere for the trailer for the upcoming film, but will not feature any news on any Nintendo games.

Despite not having even received its first trailer yet, the Super Mario movie has become something of a meme due to its questionable voice cast. Chris Pratt will be taking on the titular role, joined by Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya-Taylor Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Jack Black as Bowser.
